How to Become a Civil Law Notary

The Florida Civil Law Notary appointment is a specialized program for attorneys who need to authenticate acts or attest to the validity of documents. It allows the attorney to also perform all acts of a regular notary public.
To qualify, an applicant must be a Florida Bar member in good standing and have been in practice for at least 5 years. The process requires the applicant to pass a required examination which is preceded by a three-day training session, usually held at the Department of State in Tallahassee, Florida. Applicants must submit an online application along with a Certificate of Good Standing obtained from the Florida Supreme Court.
