DESCRIPTION:

Learn about the latest fraud strategies used to mine sensitive information through different data gathering and social engineering tactics, including how fraudsters exploit that data to manipulate or deceive businesses, employees, and clients.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

  • Identify current fraud strategies used to mine sensitive information, focusing on data gathering and social engineering tactics like phishing, vishing, and Business Email Compromise.
  • Explain the factors driving the prevalence of fraud, including the concept of Fraud as a Service (FaaS), and understand the magnitude of the current fraud landscape.
  • Apply best practices and behavioral tips, as well as recognize key fraud protection products and services, to mitigate the risks associated with these threats for themselves and their organizations.

PRESENTER:

Amy Perry, SVP of Fraud Training and Education at M&T Bank, incorporates 17 years of banking experience, a degree in Psychology, and a passion for helping others to deliver a comprehensive fraud awareness program as a proactive approach to preventing victimization. Prior to joining M&T’s Financial Crimes group, Amy has served in a variety of roles across Customer Asset Management, Mortgage Servicing, and Product Management.
